The Ultimate Spot Busting Combo

If any of you follow my

you'll know that I've been visiting my parents abroad which involved two twelve hour flights within a three week period which has unfortunately wrecked havoc on my skin. Now, between the ages sixteen and eighteen my skin was dreadful to the extent where my mum took me along to a dermatologist where I was promptly prescribed some topical solutions. But I've now reached the stage, at almost twenty years old, where my skin is clear enough to get away with a light base or simply tinted moisturiser; I've gotten to the stage when the only time I wear full face makeup is when I'm going out in the evening or am attending a blog event.

But

when I get spots, they are the bane of my existence.

I've finally discovered a perfect combination of products that seem to make those red spots disappear within a day or so.

After cleansing (I've been loving the

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Balm

It's a bit pricey but you can get some major discount codes

), I've been loving the

Trilogy Skincare Mineral Radiance Mask

which is an incredible clay mask packed full of amazing ingredients like rosehip oil which reduces scaring, I use this like a spot treatment and apply quite a thick layer to any spots. The mask seems to draw out the impurities in the spot and they then appear far less angry looking after about 20 minutes. However, unlike many clay masks, it isn't drying on the skin but leaves my skin just as soft as it was originally!

Once I've used that mask, I soak a cotton pad in my

Bravura London Purifying Calendula Toner

and wipe over the affected area. This toner contains 10% glycolic acid and 3% lactic acid which encourage skin exfoliation and get rid of dead skin cells. This step basically helps keep the area clean and prevents any more pores getting clogged; it also helps reduce redness as it's encouraging new skin growth (I hope this makes sense!).

To neutralise the quite acidic toner, I spray on my

La Roche-Posay Serozinc Toner

onto a cotton pad and wipe it over the area. This toner contains Zinc Sulfate which helps to reduce redness and is basically another step to calm down and inevitably inflamed area! This is a fairly new addition to my skincare routine but I find it incredibly refreshing and it honestly works wonders! Escentual are currently doing two bottles for £10 which is an incredible bargain so I definitely recommend picking some up!

Then another face mask which is also a new addition to my skincare routine and something I picked up in Sephora whilst I was in Malaysia (haul to come!) which is the

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask

and this is yet again another mask which calms the area down and reduces redness. I follow the instructions and apply it for 10 minutes and my skin feels softer and my spots are far calmer! If you do fancy picking up this mask, have a look

And finally, I apply a serum because I'm all about keeping spots hydrated (terrible word choice) as drying them out can actually cause them to scar! I've been loving the

InstaNatural Hyaluronic Acid Serum

which is such a lovely consistency and sinks into my skin so quickly! It's very hydrating because of the Hyaluronic acid but I've really seen a difference in my skin because of it!

Although this is quite a lot of steps, I find it's the perfect combination to try on a Sunday when my skin isn't behaving too well and it's something I've just done!
