The only Christmassy thing I'm willing to let slip through the net at this time of year are Beauty Advent calendars because let's be honest, they all sell out before any "normal" person considers an advent calendar. But it's for a good reason - mainly because most of the calendars are worth far more than their upfront cost. So let's break one of my favourite calendars (and the only one I've been able to get my mitts on).

You Magazine Beauty Advent Calendar (£60. Released October 1st.)*

This was the first advent calendar to land on my doorstep and if you missed my overexcitement on instagram (sidenote: follow ya girl on instagram) then, this is a pretty exciting calendar. As much as I love brand specific calendars, beauty advent calendars like this that show a wide range of products are ideal for trying new things. Not only is this one of the more reasonably priced options out there, it has some incredible brands from Oribe to Ciate London to Charles Worthington to REN Skincare to Moroccan Oil (but to name a few). It's pretty obvious from this blog that I'm a massive skincare junkie so the fab balance of skincare and makeup. Plus, who doesn't love the minis from beauty advent calendars.

This is absolutely beautiful - I love the layout and mix of products (many of the super exciting ones left till the end of the month) and it really does give value for money.

Not only are the products incredible, but the design is absolutely stunning. Anything with watercolour greenery and gorgeous foiled typography was bound to lure me in and it definitely helps how photogenic it is...

What are your views on beauty advent calendars? Have you ever bought one?
