I'm not a fan of mornings.
I'm not a fan of waking up to the sound of an alarm.
I prefer my bed.
But today I woke up in a impeccably good mood! I yawned, stretched and bounded out of bed, took a long shower, washed my hair with my green apple shampoo (which straight away puts me in a good mood), used a body scrub and emerged, smelling like sherbet. I can't think of a better way to start the morning.
I then blew dry my hair, pulled on a pair of sweats and made breakfast.
One of my favourite breakfasts has to be porridge. I could even write sonnets about it. There is something so wonderful about a hot breakfast when its cold outside (although, the sun is shining). But porridge can go terribly wrong, fortunately I had a mother who made it perfectly and passed on her secrets.
As its so filling, I tend to use 1/4 cup of porridge oats and 1/2 cup of milk. Just mix the two together in a pyrex jug and put it in the microwave for a 3 minutes, stiring every minute. I then add another splash of milk and a bit of brown sugar. In the picture above, I sliced up some banana and sprinkled some powdered cinnamon on it. It honestly gets me in such a good mood! I also like blueberries and chopped apple which gives a nice crunch. Its a wonderfully healthy way to start the day!
