Top: NewLook at ASOS | Skirt: ASOS* | Boots: Newlook | Bag: H&M | Necklace: Tiffany&Co
One of the uniforms at my secondary school in Thailand consisted of brown skirts this colour and I hated them as they got dirty so easily and consecutively mine were almost constantly covered in grass and paint stains (the woes of doing art) but somehow this a-line number from ASOS had a different reaction. I was drawn in particular to the scalloped edge. Initially I wanted the white version but they were out of my size and someone suggested this one in the colour 'stone'. And I love it. Maybe it's because I'm not in a school environment but the shape and cut is so flattering.
I adore stripes and it was almost instinctual to pair this striped top with the skirt - and they work very well together; the blue and beige actually look good. Plus, the plain nature of the skirt and the stripes mean the whole outfit isn't too busy and print heavy but comes across more sophisticated and almost preppy.
Paired with my trusty chelsea boots, this outfit is perfect for summer and in the cooler months, throw on a pair of tights and you'll be good to go!
