Gym Essential Edit

I take a great amount of pride in being able to say that I am a gym regular. And whilst I'd rather be in bed watching Netflix, I do go to the gym and when I'm there, I enjoy it. Which has meant that I've honed my gym bag down to a few essentials. Of course on top of this I have my toiletries (let me know if you want a post) and I wrote about my makeup essentials for staying sweat proof. But here's what else I keep in my gym bag (aside from my lifting gloves which are too darn ugly for a photo like this...).

Because I tend to go straight from the gym to University or vice versa, I like having everything to hand. Due to those early morning starts, I keep a tupperware of MyProtein Active Women's PreWorkout in Peach Tea just in case I need that extra boost. I don't like to become reliant upon things like Preworkout which do contain caffeine but I found this pretty helpful when I was working and would gym straight after work. I think this is my favourite PreWorkout that I've tried as it tastes like Peach Tea and doesn't make me feel jittery or uncomfortable. The bag is 1kg so it's sure to keep you going for a while...

Although I'm a big fan of workout classes, I like to keep a dedicated pair of headphones in my bag in case I do extra cardio or don't do a class. Because I sweat loads I find having a dedicated sweat-proof pair is pretty helpful - I use my standard Apple headphones as I'm not fussed about getting them grimy...

Trainers are a bit of a no brainer but I find with the current weather, I often wear boots to the gym so need my trainers to stay in my bag. I have four pairs of active trainers and alternate between my Adidas ClimaCools for more cardio workouts and my Nike Flex for Body Pump or when I'm doing weights. I also have a pair of Nike LunaCharge's but they're so pretty, I'm lowkey scared of wearing them in the gym...

And then because I often go for early morning classes, I keep a bar/snack of some sort in my bag. I rarely need this but there have been occasions where I've been starving and couldn't wait to grab breakfast. At the moment I have these MyProtein Lemon & White Chocolate Skinny Cookies which are pretty yummy and great for a snack. I do prefer having fruit with me but if I'm at uni first, these are ideal as I tend to squash my fruit before I can get to the gym... I've also tried the MyProtein Chocolate Protein Brownies which are so yum!

What are your standard gym bag essentials?
