The Men's Clothing That Women Should Be Wearing Too

Let's face it, ladies, sometimes the gents have it right in the wardrobe department. From the classic cuts to the downright comfy, there are some men's clothing items that we should be 'borrowing' (read: permanently adopting) into our closets. Here's a cheeky rundown of menswear pieces that women should totally rock.

1. The Almighty Gilet

Yes, that sleeveless miracle of fashion design that's perfect for those 'not too hot, not too cold' days that are all too common in the UK is often better when it’s made for men, as this Moncler Gilet demonstrates perfectly, so although we have our own, you will often find that the men’s are warmer, more padded, and just cuter to wear. Plus, pockets! Actual, usable pockets!

2. Oversized Button-Down Shirts

There's something effortlessly chic about an oversized button-down on a slender lady (and not-so-slender ones too). So, why not borrow one from the boys and style it your way – tuck it, tie it, or just let it flow?

3. Tailored Suit Trousers

Why should guys have all the fun with tailored trousers? A pair of well-fitted suit trousers can make you feel like a boss lady, and they are getting all too hard to find on the high street, especially at a reasonable price, when it comes to women’s fashion at least. Luckily, the men’s department has our backs (or should that be our legs?) Pair them with heels for a power look or sneakers for a casual vibe. It’s high time we raided this section of the menswear aisle. DemellierLondon Sign up to our newsletter and be the first to know about exclusive offers, product launches and more.

4. Brogues and Oxfords

These aren't just for the chaps. Brogues and Oxfords can add a dapper touch to any outfit when you don’t want to wear heels and it’s too cold for sandals. They're like the sensible shoes that went to finishing school – practical, but with a pedigree.

5. Crew Neck Jumpers

Men’s crew neck jumpers are cosy, comfy and great for us gals. They're roomier, often softer, and let's be honest, the colours are usually better. Steal one and pair it with skinny jeans for a relaxed look that screams ‘I just threw this on and still look fabulous’.

6. Classic Watches

There's something about a chunky, classic men's watch that just works on a smaller wrist. It's like wearing a little piece of functional art. Plus, it's a great conversation starter – 'Oh this old thing? Just a little something I 'borrowed'.'

7. Baseball Caps

For those bad hair days, or just when you want to add a sporty edge to your outfit, a classic baseball cap does the trick. It's like the ultimate undercover accessory.

8. Leather Jackets

Sure, we have leather jackets in women’s fashion, but men’s leather jackets have that oversized, lived-in feel that’s hard to replicate. They're like the cool older brother of the jacket world.

9. Graphic Tees

Oversized graphic tees from the men's section are a treasure trove of cool prints and designs. Wear them as a dress, tuck them into high-waisted trousers, or just lounge around at home feeling like the queen of comfy town.

10. Hoodies

Last but not least, the humble hoodie. Men's hoodies tend to be less about the ‘fashion’ and more about comfort, which is exactly what we want from a hoodie, right? It's like wearing a soft embrace.
