I’m really fortunate to say that I’m still really close with my friends from university, to the point where we regularly still have a ‘friend-mas’ and see each other quite a bit. With two of my close friends from university, we meet up every two weeks (or so) for a day packed with Christmas movies, plenty of snacks (and a box of Thorntons Continental!) and a catch up. Chocolate and snacks are a key component to all our catch ups and the Thorntons Continental selection is the perfect way to show appreciation for loved ones and ‘Pass The Love On’.

I know not everyone is as lucky as I am – with lots of people being separated from their loved ones, and it can be especially hard at this time of year without your nearest and dearest around you.

I’ve partnered with Thorntons to celebrate the Continental Journey campaign which will see two families reunited via a sensory VR experience – I’ll be sharing details of this soon so keep your eyes peeled! Being around loved ones is so important at this time of year, which is why I’m showing how I ‘Pass the Love On’ by gifting a box of Thorntons Continental to my friends.

After a good few years of friendship, we’ve realised that spending time together is absolutely the best way that we’re able to ‘Pass the love on’ and is something that’s become really important throughout the years. Christmas is a season to show your appreciation for your loved ones and gift them something special – which can often lead to pressure of having to spend lots. But it doesn’t have to be that way. With my friends, we restrain from giving too many gifts, instead choosing to have a secret Santa that involves us making and creating a present – meaning we’re giving each other more memorable gifts. There’s something in a sharing mentality that genuinely creates a closer sense of friendship and is a feeling that Christmas is all about.

Christmas is a time to ’Pass The Love On’ to friends and family, and, for this reason, Thorntons is working with SSAFA, the charity that supports our servicemen and servicewomen, veterans and their families. A portion of all sales from the Thorntons Continental range are donated directly to SSAFA. Having recently swapped careers to a role in a charity, I’ve never been so challenged on how important it is to truly care and support for those around you, particularly in a season centred on being surrounded by people. So, I’ll also be taking in boxes of Thorntons Continental selection to share with those I work with – because it’s amazing how the little things can mean so much more, just because they’re done with love.

How are you planning to ‘Pass the Love on’ this Christmas? Is a box of Thorntons Continental selection a key part of your Christmas as it is mine?
