Give These Captial Cities A Chance!

When it comes to travelling, most people tend to have their mind set on a few specific places. Now, there's nothing wrong with this. After all, many of the most popular travel destinations in the world are popular for a reason. However, it's a real shame that a lot of these places are so popular that they end up overshadowing other destinations that have huge amounts to offer travellers. With that in mind, here are a few capital cities that you might just want to give a chance to the next time you go travelling.

Everyone knows London as one of the busiest and most bustling capital cities in the world. However, this often seems to lead them to want to avoid it rather than to experience it first hand. People assume that London is simply too busy to be an enjoyable experience. However, that's simply not the case. Sure, London has its fair share of busy nightlife and exciting culture. But it's also got some wonderful areas that are incredibly peaceful. Waking up in a Dorsett Hotel and spending the day walking around the city's many parks and museums can be a wonderfully relaxing experience. Even the tube isn't as bad as most people are led to believe.

Amsterdam

Ah, Amsterdam! A city of vice and sin! Right? Well, no. The truth is that Amsterdam is one of the most culturally rich and beautiful cities in the world. Sure, there is a lot of freedom afforded to those who visit Amsterdam, but the truth is that you're much more likely to come away from a trip to Amsterdam feeling enriched and enlightened than anything else!

Sofia

Bulgaria probably isn't a place that jumps to mind when you think of travel destinations, but you might want to reconsider that. Located less than a day away from the slopes of Vitosha Mountain, Sofia is a genuine treat for lovers of architecture with its gorgeous medieval churches. Not only that but it's also incredibly modern with some wonderful bars and restaurants for just about anyone to enjoy. It's the kind of place that often feels like something out of a fairy tale.

Madrid

Despite being so famous, Madrid often seems to be overlooked in favour of other Spanish cities like Barcelona. However, if you give it a chance, you'll find that Madrid has more culture, more energy, and more life than you could imagine fitting into a single city. Whether you're there for the museums and architecture or the raucous nightlife, Madrid is the kind of place that really does seem to have something perfect for just about everyone who visits it.

Of course, these are only a few examples. Do a little bit of digging, and you may well find some even more obscure and interesting capitals for your next trip! Sure, it's easy to just go to the well-known places that you know about, but taking a risk and trying somewhere a bit different is one of the best ways to discover somewhere truly amazing that would have otherwise flown under the radar.
