Through The Looking Glass

It's that time of year, the time where our Facebook newsfeeds will be flooded with status' reflecting on 2012, or saying things like 'New Year, New Me'. It does get rather tiresome after a while, so I have decided to do something a little bit different by listing my favourite moments rather than a negative post! As 2012 covered both my lower and upper sixth, there are a variety of things but I hope you enjoy!

One of my favourite moments had to have been prom. Although it was mainly for upper sixth, I had so much fun with my friends and seriously enjoyed myself by dancing to music that included songs like the Macarena, the ketchup song, YMCA, you get the drift!

Then, Summer of 2012. I think I have shared some of pictures of my summer travels which is when I actually started this blog! As it was my last summer in Asia, my family visited various locations which included Chiang Mai, Vietnam, Hua Hin, Singapore and Bangkok. One of my all time favourite moments was when we visited an elephant park in Chiang Mai! I adore elephants partially because my favourite book as a child was called 'Ellie the Elephant' but I love them!
Summer 2012 was huge as I finally got my beautiful camera, which is key to the success of my blog and I was able to kick start some of my photography which I have shared occasionally!

Receiving my AS-Level grades. Although this is a traumatic time for many, I was relatively happy with my grades especially my geography and biology! This also reconfirmed my fear that chemistry was not for me and then provided me the opportunity to work even harder on my other subjects!

THIMUN in Singapore was amazing and was definitely a key moment. I absolutely adore debating so a week at THIMUN was perfect especially as I got the opportunity to speak in front of three thousand people; what an experience!

And finally, my blog has finally taken off as only 2 days ago, I reached 70,000 views! This is such a monumental event as I have never been able to blog for a long period of time, and now I finally have! Especially as I have only been blogging for six months!

I think overall, 2012 has been such a huge year for me as an individual, as it has provided me with the opportunity to solidify friendships, get through school and start writing more in the form of poetry and just writing this blog; both of which are passions of mine!

What are some of your favourite moments of 2012?
