The picturesque island of Sicily is the perfect romantic destination for couples looking for an alternative holiday. Couples can enjoy peace and tranquillity along the many white sandy beaches and bask in the natural beauty of the island.

Stay in style

While the island has a lot of hotels and apartments to choose from, all with different star ratings and facilities, those who are looking to make their holiday truly unique and romantic should stay in one of the many luxurious villas located across the island of Sicily

Nightlife

Most of the nightlife centers are in Catania. There are several bars and nightclubs across the city as well as several cruising areas, beach discos and restaurants to choose from. Morgana bar is one of the trendiest place in Catania with a smallish dance floor that sees some action after midnight . Piazza Bellini and via Plebiscito host severalbars and nightclubs and during the summer the party scene moves to the beach where you can enjoy a host of dance floors, swimming pools, lounging areas and jacuzzis along the seafront.

Relaxation

If you’d prefer to relax and rejuvenate during your stay there many saunas, hammam and thermal baths to choose from on the island. La Mimosa in Ragusa is an elegant and cozy sauna that offers various types of massages. Villa Neri Resort has a wonderful outdoor swimmimg pool and the inside spa offers a wide range of sauna services. Regarding the Thermal baths, the Thermae of Vulcano (in the Aeolian archipelago) consist in pools of thermal water and hills steaming sulfur, creating a surreal landscape.

Beaches

Above all else, Sicily is famous for its tropical sandy beaches. Oasi del Simeto is located just a short distance from the city and offers a golden sandy beach for tourists looking to relax and enjoy the fresh sea breeze; clothing-optional. The San Vito Lo Capo in Riserva dello Zingaro and le Fontane Bianche in Siracusa are two other superb beaches with tropical almond and lemon trees scattered across the flora-rich sand dunes.
